PENOSIL Premium PU-Sealant High Modulus is suitable for sealing joints; filling joints in concrete buildings, especially floors; sealing weld seams; sealing and noise reduction in wagon construction and metal joints; sealing and bonding in ship and boat construction (decking); sealing glass spacers and coated surfaces; bonding plates, sills, thresholds, and finishing strips; sealing joints of porcelain, steel, stainless steel, plastic (polyester and many PVC), painted wood, concrete, and brick products.<\/p>\n
PENOSIL Premium PU-Sealant High Modulus insulates and seals both indoors and outdoors, the sealant is permanently flexible and has noise reduction effects.
Premium PU-Sealant High Modulus is resistant to water, cleaning agents, oils, hydrocarbons, acids, and diluted alkalis. The sealant has very good processing and leveling properties and does not shrink in the joint. UV, moisture, and weather-resistant.<\/p>\n
Before sealing the joints, the underlying concrete must have undergone volume shrinkage. Surfaces must be clean of loose particles, dust, and oils. If necessary, the joints should be treated with an appropriate primer before sealing. After priming, a backer rod can be installed in the joint. The purpose of the backer rod is to ensure the correct joint depth, prevent three-way adhesion, and ensure the proper shape of the sealant. The diameter of the backer rod should be approximately 25% larger than the width of the joint. The ratio of joint width to joint depth should be from 1:1 to 3:1, with the best ratio being 2:1.<\/p>\n
Before applying the sealant, allow concrete surfaces to dry for at least 4 weeks. To prove material chemical compatibility and adhesion, perform an adhesion test on surfaces covered with silicone, paying attention to the color. The size of the joint should be selected depending on joint movement, the joint width should be from 6 mm to 40 mm, and for a 10 mm joint width, the joint depth should equal the joint width. For joint widths exceeding 10 mm, the joint depth should be half the joint width.<\/p>\n
Only fully cured sealants can be painted with water-dispersible paint (acrylic, vinyl). Joint movement can cause cracking of the painted surface.<\/p>\n
Working temperature range from +5\u00b0C to +35\u00b0C. Do not use at temperatures below +5\u00b0C, can be used outdoors in places where winter temperature does not drop below -20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n
