A structural element used for the covering of door and window openings, as well as supporting from higher-placed structures.
Application: Lintel
Description: Self-bearing lintels, with a width corresponding to the width of the ceramsite blocks (100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 mm). The lintel is a reinforced block designed for spanning openings up to 3 m wide. The lintel consists of ceramsite, cement, water, and substantial steel reinforcement. Steel bars with a diameter of 8–12 mm are used for reinforcement. Lintels are produced in various widths (100, 150, 200, 250, 300 mm).
- The BBR lintel does not create a cold bridge as it is made from ceramsite with good thermal insulation properties. The thermal conductivity of the lintel is 0.2 w/mk. The lintel provides an excellent base for plastering.
- The lintel sizes correspond to the sizes of lightweight BBR blocks.
- BBR lintels can be installed without lifting devices.
- In construction, the lintels need to be plastered to ensure fire resistance (R30), as well as to protect the reinforcement from corrosion.
- BBR lightweight lintels are not recommended for use in waterproof structures and environments with high chloride levels.
- It is not advisable to place load points (e.g., beams, slabs) in the middle of the lintel gap. It is preferable to find a solution where the load is as close to the end of the lintel as possible.
